Recently, I made a post about Using Your Name As Your Blog/Website URL. Most people (except one impersonator) understood where I was coming from with this post. For reference purposes, you can view this post here, since I am not going to repeat myself. Well, today I came across another example of the dangers of blogging. My second blog was on LiveJournal, and during those years, I wrote lots of personal information(things I never wanted to become public) in these blog entries. However, one day I noticed that although I had deactivated my livejournal account, those personal entries were still accessible through LJSeek.

You see, the blog entries are cached, and can be found easily by searching for specific key words. Even though you delete the blog, the entries will still come up in LJSeek’s search results. LOL. I finally solved this problem by deleting every single blog entry on my LiveJournal account, and then deleting that blog. Although that process worked for me (and it took a few months for the entries to disappear), I cannot guarantee that it will work for everyone else.

That is why it is important for you to BE VERY CAREFUL as to what you write on the internet, as it can come back to haunt and EMBARASS you several months or YEARS down the line. Remember, JUST BECAUSE YOU DELETED IT, DOESN’T MEAN THAT ITS GONE!!!

Thankfully, my entries were removed and now I am much more cautious about what I write on the internet. I hope you, my readers, take my advice and  don’t call me a jackass like the impersonator did in the above mentioned post. Think about it…
